A Saltmarsh arcade
Sail the Weatherlight into the storm. Dodge the crown, hoard the mithril, read the lightning.
Tap left or right of the ship to change lanes. Also in the arcade: Crabber's Cove Dive
Ship's articles
Tap left or right of the ship to slide one lane that way. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or A and D. Esc or P pauses, and the game pauses itself if you switch apps.
The Weatherlight has three hull points, shown top right. Each hit costs one, then the ship blinks for a moment and can't be hit again. Lose all three and the run is over.
Rocks. They sit still in their lane. Sometimes two lanes are blocked at once, but there's always a lane you can reach in time.
Crown cutters. From about 25 seconds in. Each starts in one lane and swings into the next partway down, so watch both lanes.
Sahuagin. From about a minute in. A green ripple marks where one will surface, then it surges at you faster than the current.
Hornpipe tokens. Mithril, worth 50 points times your combo. They often come in lines of three, and they never hurt.
Every two tokens raise your combo by one, up to ×8 (shown under your score). Any hit drops it back to ×1.
Every 20 seconds or so a glowing crate floats down an open lane. Sail through it to pick it up. Timed ones show a countdown under your combo.
Patch kit. Restores one hull point. At full hull it's worth 250 points instead.
Fair wind. Nothing can hurt you for 5 seconds.
Storm lantern. Burns the fog away for 8 seconds.
Hornpipe. Tokens are worth double for 10 seconds.
Every 90 seconds you weather a squall. You get a reward (a hull point back if you're damaged, otherwise 1,000 points times the squall number), then a few seconds of calm water with a line of tokens before the next squall hits. The squall count shows next to your leagues.
Fog rolls down from the top and thickens as the run goes on, hiding what's coming. The lightning keeps a rhythm: three small flickers, then a big strike that lights the whole sea for a moment. Learn the beat and read the water on the big one.
The sea speeds up for the first three minutes or so, then keeps creeping faster until something gives.
30 points for every league sailed, plus tokens. Pick a helmsman on the title screen; each has one perk.
